Busy McCarroll

Busy McCarroll is an award-winning musician, songwriter, teacher, and New Mexico Music Commissioner. She’s been performing in a variety of ensembles since her teens and has called New Mexico home since 1977. Over the years, she’s produced numerous music events throughout Santa Fe.

Her music defies categorization, spanning jazz, pop, western, surf, cinematic, and a little kooky. She currently performs with her band, BUSY y Los Big Deals, and teaches The Golden Hour, a singing and songwriting class for seniors at the Cerrillos Senior Center - because it’s never too late to make some noise.

A multiple award winner, Busy has been recognized for Best Album, Best Song, Best Novelty Song, and Best Funk Song. Her music is often political and provocative, and always entertaining.

Busy is thrilled to bring her song “VAGINA” to the Desert Bloom Feminist Fiesta, joined by Santa Fe’s own Margaret Burke on bass. Expect lots of attitude, fun and no apologies!
