Care Matters! The Work Essential to the Future of People and Planet
Feleecia Guillen
Xicana Environmental Justice Organizer
Feleecia Guillen (she/her/ella) is a Xicana Environmental Justice Organizer from rural New Mexico, a New Mexico Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies, and the Coalition Organizer for New Mexico No False Solutions. Her work focuses on confronting the intersecting systems of colonialism, racial capitalism, militarism, and environmental injustice that have historically positioned New Mexico and communities across the Global South as sacrifice zones for extraction and empire. Rooted in grassroots organizing and international solidarity, Feleecia works to advance a full, fast, fair, funded, and feminist fossil fuel phaseout while challenging corporate greenwashing and false climate solutions, including carbon capture, hydrogen, nuclear energy, and the growing entrenchment of Big Tech and AI infrastructure in the fossil fuel economy. Her organizing connects struggles against fossil fuel extraction, nuclear colonialism, environmental racism, and U.S. imperialism with broader movements for Indigenous sovereignty, energy democracy, collective liberation, and a just transition.
