Jamie Figueroa

Jamie Figueroa is the critically acclaimed author of Brother, Sister, Mother, Explorer and Mother Island: A Daughter Claims Puerto Rico, whose work explores memory, inherited silence, language, identity, and creative sovereignty. A Boricua (Latine-Black-Indigenous) writer and educator, she teaches in the MFA Creative Writing program at the Institute of American Indian Arts and is currently pursuing doctoral research in Visionary Practice and Regenerative Leadership at Southwestern College.
