Mary Beth Yates

Mary Beth was born and raised in Southeastern New Mexico in the town of Artesia. Due to a lack of croissants, she left at age 18, seeking bread and pastries across the US and the world before returning to New Mexico in 2008: first to Farmington and then to Santa Fe in 2015. As a donor, Mary Beth believes the current state of philanthropy and the expectation between donors and organizations needs a Great Upheaval. She supports a move towards power sharing, moving money, donor accountability, and what she calls “open-handed giving”. And more pastries.
