Mary Oishi

Mary Oishi, Albuquerque Poet Laureate (2020-2022) was active in the women’s movement since the 1980’s, when she defiantly published a women’s magazine in conservative central Pennsylvania. Although she is published in 17 countries and 8 languages, most New Mexicans know her through her years in public radio at KUNM and KSFR. In early 2027, Across Borders—her fifth poetry collection and first book of haiku—will be published. Along with a

translator, she also just completed a manuscript for a bilingual Spanish/English book of poetry.
